Safety Flooring Fitters for Every High-Risk Environment
Safety flooring has to perform every day, not just when it is new. We supply and fit it right for hospitals, care homes, schools and commercial kitchens.
Safety Flooring Built for Demanding Environments
Standard flooring does not cut it in environments where slip hazards, wet conditions, and hygiene are daily realities. We supply and install safety flooring for hospitals, schools, care homes, and commercial kitchens across the UK, working with Altro and Polyflor on every project. We are experienced in live clinical environments and know exactly which product suits each space, from heavy-duty Polysafe and Apex ranges for kitchens and corridors through to Altro Aquarius for barefoot wet rooms. From initial sub-floor preparation through to a hot-welded, watertight finish, every stage is managed by our own in-house team. No subcontractors and no shortcuts.

Types of Safety Flooring we Supply and Fit

Heavy-Duty Non-Slip Flooring
Safety flooring is not just about slip resistance, although that matters more than anything else in environments like commercial kitchens, public washrooms, and hospital corridors. True safety flooring is manufactured in two-metre widths with built-in aggregates and metal particles that maintain grip even in wet conditions. We supply products from Altro and Polyflor, including their Polysafe and Apex ranges, and fit them entirely in-house on a properly prepared sub-floor.
Cap and Cove Safety Flooring Installations
In wet rooms and live healthcare environments, hygiene is absolutely critical. We specialise in cap and cove installation, curving the safety flooring 100mm up the wall to eliminate floor-to-wall junctions where bacteria and moisture collect. We also offer sit-on or set-in PVC skirting options. Every joint is hot-welded to create a continuous, fully waterproof seal that withstands daily washdowns and prevents bacteria build-up in demanding commercial spaces.

High-Performance Altro and Polyflor Products
We work with Altro and Polyflor on every safety flooring project. Their ranges include Polysafe, a proven commercial safety floor, and the Apex range, an extra-thick product designed for the most demanding kitchen environments. Altro Aquarius is a specialist product engineered specifically for barefoot use in wet rooms. We will always recommend the right product for your specific environment rather than fitting whatever is easiest.

Safety Flooring for These Sectors and Environments

Hospitals & Healthcare
Safety flooring is a mandatory requirement across clinical areas, corridors, and wet rooms in hospitals and healthcare facilities. It needs to meet strict infection control standards while maintaining slip resistance in areas cleaned daily with aggressive chemicals. We are fully experienced in working in live clinical environments and fit around ward schedules and handover deadlines.

Care Homes
Safety flooring in care homes needs to balance slip resistance with a finish that feels warm and domestic rather than clinical. Wet rooms, bathrooms, and en suites are the most common areas requiring specialist safety flooring, and getting the cap and cove installation right is particularly important for hygiene. We have fitted in care homes of all sizes and understand the sensitivity of the environment.

Schools and Education
Schools need safety flooring in kitchens, toilets, and any wet area where pupils and staff are at risk of slipping. The product has to be durable enough to handle the level of daily foot traffic a school generates and easy to maintain throughout term time. We install around school timetables and work out of hours where the job requires it.

Commercial Kitchens
Commercial kitchens are one of the most demanding environments for any floor covering. The floor has to cope with hot liquids, grease, constant foot traffic, and aggressive cleaning agents while maintaining slip resistance throughout the working day. We specify the right product for the chemical exposure in each kitchen and install cap and cove skirting as standard to eliminate dirt traps at the wall junction.

Building and Construction
Main contractors need a flooring sub-contractor who turns up when they say they will and works around the programme. We handle safety flooring as part of new build and refurbishment contracts, carrying out all sub-floor preparation ourselves and co-ordinating with the build schedule to make sure nothing holds up the next trade.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does safety flooring cost?
It depends on the product required and whether cap and cove installation is needed. Sub-floor preparation is mandatory and is always included in the estimate. Use our Quick Quote Calculator for a rough idea, or get in touch and we will arrange a free site survey.
What is cap and cove safety flooring?
Cap and cove is where we curve the flooring 100mm up the wall and hot-weld every joint to create a continuous, fully waterproof seal. It is essential for hospital wards, care home wet rooms, and commercial kitchens where hygiene and daily washdowns are a reality.
What is the difference between safety flooring and standard commercial flooring?
True safety flooring is manufactured specifically for slip resistance in wet conditions. It contains built-in aggregates and metal particles and comes in two-metre widths. Standard commercial flooring does not offer the same level of grip and would not meet health and safety requirements in high-risk environments.
Do you use Altro and Polyflor products?
Yes. We work with both manufacturers and can advise on the right product for your environment, whether that is Polysafe for a busy corridor, the Apex range for a commercial kitchen, or Altro Aquarius for a barefoot wet room.
Can you fit safety flooring in a live environment?
Yes. We are experienced working in live hospital wards, care homes, and schools around staff, patients, and the public. We work around your schedule and keep disruption to a minimum.
Do you subcontract your safety flooring installations?
No, never. Every installation is carried out by our own in-house team. We manage all sub-floor preparation and fitting directly, so there is no handoff and no drop in standards.

Featured Project
Live Environment Refit: Herons Park Nursing Home
Commercial refits in sensitive, live environments like care homes demand more than just standard floor fitting. They require respect, cleanliness, and specialist product knowledge. For Herons House in Kidderminster, the client needed to upgrade a resident's room and ensuite to improve both the aesthetics and the safety of the space, without causing any disruption to the people living there. We uplifted the old materials and installed Scala impervious-backed commercial carpet to prevent moisture seeping through to the sub-floor, paired with Altro Aquarius safety flooring in the ensuite, a specialist product engineered specifically for barefoot use in wet rooms. The finished space was tidier, more practical, harder wearing, and delivered with complete respect for the care home environment.
